All type A, B, and AB blood types have antigens. Since type A blood has antigen A, it has an anti-B antigen in the plasma (doesn't accept B blood). Blood type B as an anti-A antibody in the plasma because it contains the B-antigen (doesn't accept A blood). Type AB blood is a universal recipient which means that it can accept blood from all blood types and therefore means that it doesn't have any antibodies in the plasma because it contains both A and B antigens. On the other hand, type O blood is only a universal donor because it doesn't have any antigens which means that it doesn't accept blood from any other blood type but itself. For this reason, type O blood has both anti-A and anti-B antibodies present since it doesn't have either of the antigens.
