The peritonem is a large serosal membrane in the abdominal cavity. Its divisions are the greater omentum, the falciparum layer, the lesser omentum and the mysentery. The mysentery binds the ileum and the jejenum-- parts of the small intestine-- to the posterior abdominal wall.
