Answer

In the process of translation, the mRNA specifications are translated by tRNA into a polypeptide chain. The small ribosome subunit has a binding site that binds mRNA . The lager ribosomal subunit has three binding sites : a peptidyl site (P site) ; an aminoacyl site (A site); an exit site (E site). It is the function of the P site to hold on to the tRNA molecule carrying the growing polypeptide chain. This facilitates the work of the A site which is to bind the tRNA that brings in the next amino acid to be attached to the extending polypeptide.

Work Step by Step

The process of translation of the genetic information of mRNA is carried out by ribosomes in the cytoplasm and involves important roles for tRNA.
