Group 4A is the 5th group from the right looking at the periodic table. Going down the group we have Carbon, C = nonmetal, Silicon, Si = metalloid, Germanium, Ge = metalloid, Tin, Sn = metal, Lead, Pb = metal. To know if they are metal/nonmetal/metalloid, we can look at the picture and see that the only metalloids are those in Green = Boron, Silicon, Germanium, Arsenic, Antimony and Telluride. Everything to the right of those is a nonmetal (yellow) and everything to the left except Hydrogen (in blue) is a metal.
