Answer

After the cloud of material settles to the seafloor and the delta expands farther into the Bering Sea, these fine-grained sediments will become the mud beds of the delta. The silt and clay particles will settle and accumulate in layers, forming mud deposits on the delta floor. Over time, these mud beds may be buried and compacted, eventually becoming sedimentary rock layers if they are preserved in the geologic record.
