Health is measured in terms of life expectancy at birth. Education is measured as adult literacy rates and school enrollment at all levels. Income is measured in terms of GNI, that is, per capita income converted to US dollars. The HDI ranges from 0.000 ( very low) to 1.000 (very high).
Norway, Australia, Germany, US, Netherlands have high HDI's. Sub-Saharan African countries , Yemen Haiti, and Afghanistan are countries with some of the lowest HDI's.
