No equations and equivalent statement cannot always be same. Because equations can be stated in an equivalent statement but equivalent statement cannot be stated in an equation.

Example : We know that foot can be stated in yards by saying, 3foot is equal to 1yard is an equivalent statement. Where as 3ft = 1yd is not an equation. So equation and equivalent statement not always the same.
