To hold in high esteem and show reverence toward.

Repulsive and horrifying; appallingly grim and upsetting.

Unnatural to the point of being affront to God and all that is decent.

Capable of causing the effects of vertigo, especially dizziness, as the result of the effects of the discomfort of being at too great a height.

upheaval

A violent, but transformative tumult; a turbulent hullaballoo.

vortex

A whirlwind or malestrom capable of transporting one to faraway place, but often conveying a figurative metaphor of dizzying change.

samovar

A high decorative urn for serving tea popular in Russia.

suffused

Permeated or saturated or flooded clear through.
