The Bacchae Lesson Plan

Relationship to Other Books

The Bacchae premiered at a theatrical festival as part of a tetralogy that also included Iphigeneia at Aulis and Alcmaeon in Corinth. Both of these would be compelling reads for students. Consider also playwrights and other writers who were inspired by Euripedes' work, including Henrik Ibsen (A Doll's House) and Thomas Mann (Death in Venice).
