The Beatryce Prophecy Irony

The Beatryce Prophecy Irony

The paradox of Beatryce’s existence

The book of wisdom predicts that a little girl will appear someday to topple the kingdom and its rulers. However, this prophecy is lightly taken by the King and the monks because there is no way a little girl can bring down a kingdom. Ironically, at last, a young girl called Beatryce is born, which creates fear among the ruling class and monks.

The Monks

The monks are spiritual leaders that guide society and instill hope and future salivation. Based on the prophetic message, the Monks understand a prophecy about a girl who will reign someday in the future. Satirically, the monks are shocked when they hear that the prophecy has been fulfilled. Instead of celebrating the reality of the prophecy, the monks are scared and troubled.

The King

The King has the power to retain his rule. However, when the King learns that Beatryce has been born, he plans to eliminate her. The paradox in this scenario is that the King is scared of a little girl. The author borrows heavily from the Bible during the birth of Christ. The Kings were scared that the King of the world had been born and their reigns were in danger, which was not the case in reality.
