Apparel

Clothes, generally referring to special clothes or costumes for a particular occasion.

Iceberg

A gigantic mass of ice afloat on the sea. Icebergs usually break apart from larger glaciers or ice sheets and then are carried out to the sea. Since only a tiny part of ice flows above water and the larger part of it cannot be seen underneath the water (due to buoyancy), the idiom "the tip of the iceberg" has come to exist.

Steer

Guide or control the movement of something. (Verb). Synonym - Maneuver.

Budge

Make slight movement (verb). Synonym - Stir, Shift.

Sullen

Gloomy, ill-tempered (adjective).

c.f. Mayakovsky: "The sullen rain cast a glance askance"

Avalanche

Sudden, overwhelming fall of large chunks of snow or rocks from a mountain

Foundering

Submerged, capsized (adjective). A ship filled with water and sunk therefore.

Slenderest

Thinnest

Toppled

Overbalanced, foundered, gone head over heals

Undermined

Undercut (adjective). Something with its base eroded off.

Inertia

Inactive state, passivity, stagnation

Impetuous

Impulsive, rash, hasty (adjective)
