If the rose is naked, she is concealing nothing. Her beauty is intrinsic to her being, and she simply is, without mystery.

It’s a criminal automobile. In an ecological reading of this poem, the car would be stealing gasoline from the earth. Hence, it regrets the destruction it causes.
