The Boys from Biloxi Background

The Boys from Biloxi is set to be released in October of 2022 and will be published by author John Grisham's longtime publisher, Doubleday.

The second of five children, John Grisham was born in February 2015 to Ronda and John Ray Grisham, a homemaker and construction worker (respectively). Grisham enrolled at a law program at a school in Mississippi, where he graduated in 1981 with a J.D., thereafter becoming an attorney. But Grisham was more interested in becoming an author and spent more time writing after falling out of political favor. Since then, the prolific Grisham has written some of the most entertaining bestsellers of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Grisham's 2022 novel, The Boys from Biloxi, will surely be yet another bestseller. Like many of Grisham's previous novels, The Boys from Biloxi is set in Mississippi (and as the title suggests, Biloxi). Biloxi is best-known for its exuberance and its beaches and its resorts. But like most cities, Biloxi has a dark underbelly which has forever damaged the town and the people who live in it.

The Boys from Biloxi follows two people, both of whom who grew up in Biloxi: Keith Rudy and Hugh Malco. While both remained friends, Keith and Hugh took different paths in their lives. On one hand, Keith became a lawyer. Hugh, on the other hand, worked in his father's seedy nightclubs. And despite the two family's relationship, they will soon come face-to-face in the courtroom over something unexpected and unfortunate. The novel explores themes related to the contrast between darkness and light, as well as changing as one ages, and the law and the U.S.' system of law.
