Buddha
Buddha is a religious leader and philosopher. According to Indians, Buddha is the founder of their religion. According to Buddhist scriptures, Buddha denounced his human spirit and became enlightened with new wisdom. In the scriptures, he teaches about rebirth and lay life. He cautions people of being trapped in the cycle of rebirth. After his death, his followers compiled his teachings and monastic practices which they continued to teach.
Human Beings
In the scriptures, human beings are closely examined. Buddhism compares human qualities to that of animals. The mind and ability to recall different events are what distinguishes man from other creatures. The book equally refers to man as a highly favored being who has the ability to become enlightened. At the beginning of time, human beings were shining beings roaming the spiritual realm. As time passed, people acquired a taste for physical fresh. After consuming fresh they possessed human bodies. In the process, however, they lost their light and became grounded.
Animals
Animals are extensively examined in the scriptures. According to Buddhist beliefs, animals possess Buddha-nature. Like human beings, animals also attain enlightenment. The teachings also insist that humans can be reborn as animals. The scriptures further explain that animals are rebirths of our one-time family members.
