Wandering the Forest of Rhetoric

Objective:
To introduce students to rhetorical effects in a medieval context and analyze how Chaucer uses these effects in the tale.

Structure:
Using the annotations students made for homework, begin with some general observations as a class about the rhetorical "moves" that Chaucer makes in the tale. Focus especially on Pertelote's speech to Chanticleer about dreams.
