Here, Bonku Babu realizes that the "invisible bonds" holding him in place had disappeared. Although Bonku Babu was no longer physically restrained, he still didn't run away. This represents his curiosity about the alien.
"Its arms and legs were amazingly thin. With the exception of its head, its whole body was covered by a shiny pink outfit. Instead of ears, it had a tiny hole on each side of its head. There were two holes where there should have been a nose and another gaping hole where the mouth should be."
In this extract, the author describes the alien's physical appearance. The alien appears exactly as we might expect, having the typical features of a sci-fi alien. For example, the lack of ears and hair, and also the pink shiny outfit.
"[They] Show a nasty side of nature; a vicious assault on helpless humanity."
Writing about storms, Ray tells us that they "show a nasty side of nature." This is an interesting personification of nature, suggesting that weather is an expression of emotion. In this case, nature is clearly not happy with the protagonist of this text, Bose.
