Why does Twoflower get kidnapped?
Early in the novel, Twoflower is kidnapped by an innkeeper called Ymor, while he is staying in Ankh-Morpork. He is kidnapped because he is showing off his possessions and people become aware of his presence. They are aware that he is not from Ankh-Morpork, and is instead from a much wealthier place.

How are Rincewind and Twoflower presented?
Although they generally get along, Rincewind and Twoflower are depicted as being very different. Rincewind is cynical and negative, while Twoflower is optimistic and positive. Overall, Rincewind sees Twoflower as being naive.

Why does The Patrician save Twoflower?
The Patrician of Ankh-Morpork stopes Rincewind from running away with Twoflower’s money. He does this because it is in the best interests of Ankh-Morpork for Twoflower to remain safe, as it would otherwise cause issues between Ankh-Morpork and the Agatean Empire.
