Harvey Dent as the Supreme Threat that Bruce Wayne Faces Within The Dark Knight Trilogy College
Throughout Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, Bruce Wayne has faced many threats; The Joker, Bane, Scarecrow and metaphorically himself. However there is one man, despite not being categorised as the villain but more "Gotham's White Knight" that poses many threats on Wayne. That is Harvey Dent. From winning the heart of Batman's estranged lover, to turning himself in to save the City, Dent puts himself on a pedestal and exposes Wayne for all his flaws and his misplaced morals. Not only does Dent affect Wayne’s life as Batman but he affects his personal life too. Ultimately he is the cause of the fall of The Dark Knight.
One of the main threats Harvey poses is the fact that Rachel, Wayne's former lover, has fallen in love with him. However, initially Wayne does not see this as a major threat as previously Rachel assured him "If Gotham no longer needed Batman we could be together." Wayne is under this impression throughout the full film, even after Rachel's death he tells Alfred "she was going to leave him for me." Unbeknown to him but revealed to the audience and Alfred upon reading Rachel's letter, that was no longer the case.
