Objective:

Students will dress up in order to embody the characters of Ivan Ilyich and Praskovya Fyodorovna, so as to better understand their social needs.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.3

Structure:

The day this section is taught, ask the students to come into school dressed like Ilyich and Fyodorovna. (Of course, it should be made clear that students of any gender can dress as either one.) They'll most likely have a good time doing so, and should be encouraged to interpret the assignment any way they see fit.
