Objective:

To create a timeline comparing childhoose milestones in Jonas' world to milestones in the real world, citing specific examples from the text

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.6-8.1, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.6-8.2

Structure:

In Chapter 6, we learn how Jonas' society gives each age group different clothing and responsibilities. For example, Eights get clothing with pockets, because they're deemed mature enough to keep track of their belongings. Nines get bicycles. Tens get more mature haircuts. Female elevens get new undergarments; male elevens get trousers with pockets for calculators.
