    Comparing the TV Show to the Book

    Kind of Activity:

    Collaborative Writing

    Objective:

    Students will be able to draw comparisons between the TV show and the book.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.7

    Structure:

    In this activity, students will make a direct comparison between the TV show Sherlock, specifically the Hound of Baskervilles episode, and the book.

    Split students into groups. Instruct them to make a list of all the characters, places, and important symbols in The Hound of Baskervilles. Then, once they have a list, they should describe the role that character or item plays in the book and compare it to the BBC adaptation.
