The Invention of Morel is a 1940 book by Adolfo Bioy Casares. Winning the 1941 First Municipal Prize for the City of Buenos Aires, the novel was very well received upon publication and instantly became a classic. The Invention of Morel was the seventh published work by Casares, originally not printed in English, but later translated to it by Ruth L.C. Simms. The book is based on a main character that is hiding somewhere on a Polynesian island.
Born in 1914, Casares was a writer of mainly fiction, his best known work being The Invention of Morel. Casares was able to write this book, along with his others, because his family was wealthy, giving him the time to create. This thought-inspiring Argentinian novel is sure to go down in history.
