Charlie Chaplin

Charlie Chaplin is the most famous artist of the silent era in film, and continues to be one of the most recognizable stars of the cinema to date. He wrote, directed, and starred in his films and became the highest-paid artist on the silver screen in his time. His film work includes The Kid, Modern Times, City Lights, and The Great Dictator, to name only a few. He was a master of physical comedy and would labor endlessly in order to get takes just the way he envisioned them. He made his first film in 1914 and continued making pictures until 1976, a year before his death.

Jackie Coogan

Jackie Coogan was only three years old when he first started appearing in films. He is best known for his role as The Kid in Charlie Chaplin's The Kid, which made him Hollywood's first child star. Coogan became an activist advocating for other child actors whose families mishandled their earnings. He later became famous for his role on the television series The Addams Family playing Uncle Fester. Coogan appeared in over one hundred and fifty films and episodes of television during his lifetime. He passed away in 1984.

Edna Purviance

Edna Purviance appeared in over forty films as a screen actor. She is known for her roles in The Kid, A Woman of Paris: A Drama of Fate and The Immigrant. Her final role came in the 1952 film Limelight, also directed by Charlie Chaplin.

Carl Miller

Carl Miller appeared in forty-six films during his twenty-five-year screen acting career. His most notable performances coming in the pictures The Kid, Raggedy Rose, and A Woman of Paris: A Drama of Fate, which also starred Edna Purviance.

Tom Wilson

Tom Wilson's most notable films include D. W. Griffith's Intolerance, The Kid, and Battling Butler, with Buster Keaton.
