Forest Whitaker
Born in 1961, Forest Whitaker is an American film producer, director, and actor that played the lead role of Idi Amin in the 2006 film, The Last King of Scotland. For this performance, Whitaker was flooded with countless prestigious awards, including the Golden Globe, an Academy Award, and a BAFTA award. For a long time, and since the beginning of his film career, Whitaker has been working with top-of-the-line directors, and for this he has become widely recognized.
As well as his performance in this 2006 film, Whitaker also performed breathtakingly in the 1988 film Bird, in which he played his first widely successful role. Later, he continued to play Nate Pope in Phenomenon, Ker in Battlefield Earth, and Ed Ramey in Phone Booth. All of these films have either won or been nominated for prestigious awards. Whitaker still is acting today, and his most recent role in a successful film was Zuri in Black Panther.
James McAvoy
Born in 1979, James McAvoy was born in the land in which this movie was based - Scotland. After debuting in the film The Near Room at just sixteen years old, McAvoy now mostly focuses on his television career. This, however, did not stifle his recognition in The Last King of Scotland, which got him nominated for a BAFTA Award.
Other popular films that McAvoy acted in were The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, X-Men, and Wanted. He is scheduled to act in It: Chapter II, a thriller based on the original story by Stephen King.
Outside of his acting career, James McAvoy once had a romantic involvement with Anne-Marie Duff, whom he was married to for ten years. He also has participated in daredevil stunts in an attempt to raise money for a Uganda charity organization.
Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington, born in 1977, is an American actress that has acted in many roles, both film and television. One of her most popular films has been The Last King of Scotland, but she has also acted in the drama film For Colored Girls, as well as doing a voiceover for a character in Cars 3.
Some of Washington's television appearances include on Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Project Runaway, and multiple television films.
Gillian Anderson
An American-British actress and writer, Gillian Anderson is a distinguished film personality. After making her film debut in Three At Once in 1986, she has gone on to act in The X-Files, The House of Mirth, Sold, and This Changes Everything.
Besides from acting, Anderson is a persistent activist on human rights and environmental issues. Anderson actively engages in organization to stop child trafficking, promote women's rights worldwide, and help spread more rights to the indigenous peoples of regions around the world. She is also a member of PETA, and has joined an organization to stop deforestation of the Amazon rainforest.
