Fairy Tales: Andersen versus Disney

Objective:

Students will compare a traditional Andersen fairy tale Disney's adaptation

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.6.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.6.9

Structure:

At the beginning of class, place the students into small groups and have them discuss the following questions: What is a fairy tale? What is your favorite fairy tale? Why? Have fairy tales played a role in your life at all? How, or how not?
