Andy Weir is a California-based author known for his science fiction novels The Martian (2014) and Artemis (2017).
Before becoming a writer, Weir worked as a computer programmer for a number of companies, including AOL and Blizzard.
A lifelong fan of science fiction, Weir began writing in his 20s. He self-published much of his earlier work on his website, www.galactanet.com (The Creative Writing of Andy Weir). Weir continued to add to this online collection until early 2016. It includes a variety of short stories, some of which have been translated into multiple languages. His bibliography also includes two comic book series, Casey and Andy and Cheshire Crossing.
