    What do you think is the message at the heart of “How to Triumph Like a Girl”? Explain.

    Strong responses will realize that feminism is the main theme of this poem. While the feminist message is delivered indirectly, it is not subtle--between the diction of the poem and the suggestion that women are perceived as delicate but are (like lady horses) powerful, winning creatures whose hearts are genius machines. The main message seems to be that women are intelligent and strong, allowing them to be winners, and these qualities are driven by their huge, genius hearts.
