Chapter 21: What a Ruler Should Do in Order to Be Thought Outstanding

In Chapter 21, Machiavelli discusses how princes can win over their subjects. He writes, "Nothing enables a ruler to gain more prestige than undertaking great campaigns and performing unusual deeds." Princes can also win acclaim for the rewards and punishments which they dole out, as well as for possessing outstanding ability in some respect.
