The Reversal Irony

The Reversal Irony

Mickey Haller's Role

For all of his career, Mickey Haller has acted as a criminal defense attorney. However, in The Reversal, Mickey Haller acts as a prosecutor for the City and County of Los Angeles, lending some novelty to the plot of the book.

Maggie McPherson

Typically, ex-spouses dislike each other and do not remain friends after they divorce. In fact, few people leave their marriages in a position where they are able to work with their former spouses. However, Mickey Haller happily asks Maggie McPherson, his ex-wife, to join his team as his co-prosecutor.

Melissa Landy's Dress

The dress that Melissa Landy was wearing on the date she was killed did not belong to Melissa. In fact, Melissa was wearing her older sister Sarah Gleason's dress (despite the fact that Sarah was older and thus bigger than Melissa).

Plea Bargain

Mickey Haller anticipates that Jason Jessup's defense team will offer the State a plea bargain for their client after they return from lunch. Instead, Jessup murders his defense team and is ultimately killed by Police.

Jessup

Jessup, who both Detective Bosch and Mickey Haller think is a serial killer, is allowed to be released from jail despite the severity of the charges he has been accused of. Invariably, people accused of murder are denied bond or are given bonds few people would be able to pay.
