    Dramatic Monologues

    Objective:

    Students will write dramatic monologues for each of the main characters, using what they know about the characters from the text to inform what they include.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.3, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.3, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.9-10.5, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.9-10.6

    Structure:

    Begin the class by showing this short video that defines dramatic monologues and explains their history and function in literature.

    Show students some examples of dramatic monologues. Here are a couple of options:
