Tim Robbins
Tim Robbins is an actor, writer, and director and his role as Andy Dufresne is perhaps his best-known character. Raised in a show business family, Robbins took an early interest in acting. His breakthrough role was in Bull Durham, the 1988 baseball movie, followed by Robert Altman's 1992 film The Player, for which he won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Robbins' other films include I.Q., The Hudsucker Proxy, Nothing to Lose, High Fidelity, Human Nature, Mystic River (which won him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor), War of the Worlds, The Lucky Ones, Welcome to Me, A Perfect Day, and Marjorie Prime.
