Comparative Analysis on Memmi, Du Bois, and Fanon The process of colonization creates a lasting scar on future society. Colonization creates a destructive and selfish mechanism by which a nation state dominates another to take advantage of its natural resources. Scholars have analyzed the consequences of colonization from many different perspectives. The most controversial and widely discussed model of colonization typically can be seen in forced emigrated African culture. As early as the 15th century, the African slave trade began, distributing millions of Africans to multiple countries to be exploited for labor. Treatment of Africans in the foreign countries resulted in death, confinement, and suppression of their culture. Their people had to fight for their freedom, and in a sense, this fight continues today. The lingering repercussions of their past oppressive treatment remains, and their struggle persists in a political matter.
