Students will prepare an objective summary of the Induction and Act I.

Structure:

Reading Shakespeare can be a daunting task for students who aren't familiar with his writing: the combination of Early Modern English and verse means that students must often essentially analyze poetry in an antiquated form of the language. As such, it may be difficult for some students to understand the basic structure of Taming of the Shrew's plot, especially given how many layers of illusion and deception are taking place by the end of Act I.
