The Thirteenth Tale Themes

Literature and books

Reading is the most agreeable hobby that everybody can have. Moreover, if a person writes interesting stories, this is an excellent hobby and job. Vida Winter adores surprising readers with her new books and stories with an exciting and simple ending. Literature is a part of her life and Vida put her heart into her favorite work. Margaret Lea does not sell books – she takes care of them. Sometimes she takes a book from the self, randomly chooses some pages and reads them. After all, reading is just like a friendly conversation. Margaret likes to care about books, even if their plots are as dull as their covers. If the page is boring, it never leaves Margaret apathetic. After all, someone considered that these words are worth of saving for descendants.

Incest

Love between brother and sister is stronger than between two different people. Brother and sister grow up and learn the world together, trust each other. Well, what if this love is beyond the scope and turns into incest? In the novel, incest between Charlie and Isabelle Angelfield is not so nasty for readers, but they do not realize they commit a sin. According to the Bible, children, who are born out incest, pick up the bill for all the mistakes of their parents. It means kids are born sick, with pathological disorders and their brain activity lags behind in development. Emmeline and Adeline have the same problems. This is a sin of their parents. Twins will live with it all their life.

Twins

Emmeline and Adeline are always together – they play, eat, pick flowers and become naughtily together. It is a fact that one child is capable and behaves well, but the second twin is eternally unsatisfied. Emmeline is as an angel – she is calm, but Adeline is very cruel. Separation of twins is something special. Imagine that you have experienced a terrible earthquake, after which you completely do not recognize the world around yourself. The landscape, the horizon, the light of the sun have changed. However, you have survived, but this is a completely different life. Therefore, it is not surprising that Emmeline and Adeline begin to be self-contained. When they are separated, their inner worlds are destroying.
