    What really happened that night?

    Kind of Activity:

    dramatic reenactment

    Objective:

    Use imagination to reenact a scene, take a side and defend it, make oral arguments using evidence, assess possibilities on the basis of evidence

    Structure:

    This activity should occur after discussion of the third thought question. The class splits into four groups for 10 minutes. Three of the groups will have 4 people, with one person playing each role of Jem, Scout, Mr. Ewell, and Boo Radley. Each of these three groups spends the 10 minutes preparing a brief, 2-minute skit to reenact what happened when Jem and Scout were attacked. In one group, Mr. Ewell falls on his own knife.
