"James Joyce's Ulysses in Hypermedia"
http://publish.uwo.ca/~mgroden/Ulysses/
The "hypermedia" approach of this site is a vivid contrast to most other Joycean research centers. The site offers an electronic presentation of Joyce's epic, Ulysses. The presentation progresses by chapter and each section provides a narrative cartoon with supplementary annotations, explanations and links to scholarship on Ulysses. The sound files are among the site's most unique offerings and the wide range of narrative annotations and explanations will appeal to advanced and beginning readers. The visual design of the site makes it easy to navigate though it is unfortunate that the "hypermedia" project offers relatively few links to other Ulysses pages. There are a few resources concerning modern literary criticism and fewer examining the relationships between Ulysses and Joyce's other works. The site is very narrowly focused on the narrative of Ulysses, but within this narrow focus, the "hypermedia" site offers an almost inexhaustible amount of interesting information, much of it in the form of downloadable files.
