Vampires in the Lemon Grove Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

Vampires in the Lemon Grove Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

Fila as Temptation

Fila is a young lady who acts as a source of temptation to Clyde throughout the short story. She is eventually killed by Clyde, suggesting he has given into temptation.

Humanity

Humanity is perhaps presented most vivaciously through Magreb. Though she is a vampire like Clyde, she harbors more human traits to him and indeed assimilates to normal culture much easier.

Lemon Grove

The lemon grove is a place of serenity and peace for Clyde throughout the course of the book. One could compare it to the Garden of Eden as the lemons curb Clyde’s intentions of drinking blood.
