The act of buying shares in a company so that you can sell them again at a higher price, in order to make money.

Innocent and lacking experience.

Sun Tzu

A Chinese general and military strategist who famously wrote The Art of War.

Evade

Avoid.

Shareholder

Someone who owns an interest in a company.

Indulge

Take pleasure in or enjoy.

Abyss

A very large, deep hole.

Stock

Represents what a person owns when they invest in a company.

Nobility

Goodness and honor.

gold standard

System in which the value of a currency is determined by gold. A system that was largely abandoned during the Great Depression.

The Challenger

An infamous spaceship that broke apart and exploded only 73 seconds after taking off.

steak tartare

A dish made from raw ground meat.

Evian

A brand of bottled water.

Ball sport played in a four-walled court.

liquidate

Close down a company by taking control of its assets and selling them off.

banned from practicing law.
