abomination

something that is grotesque, horrifying, or (from a moral standpoint) extremely unjust

battalion

a large unit of soldiers, typically in a land-based army; a battalion will be composed of multiple companies and will typically be led by a lieutenant colonel

convoy

a group or (in military terms) an assembled force moving together, often under some form of organized protection

craggy

harsh or rough in texture; recalling sharp, rising rock formations or "crags"

cricket (the game)

a sport that involves sets of eleven players per team and that (loosely) can be compared to American baseball since both sports use a bat and ball as primary implements

frenzy

a sudden burst of madness or heightened activity

incessantly

without stopping or interruption; in a constant or persistent manner

indignation

a state of high offense or disapproval; the sense that one's position or dignity has been insulted

jagged

characterized by sharp edges or spike-like forms

nobility

greatness, honesty, or another traditionally admirable value; somewhat more literally, the quality of being aristocratic or well-bred

personify

to represent an animal or other non-human entity as though it had human qualities

rapturous

joyous or jubilant

reconciliation

the process of coming together and putting one's differences aside, often in order to make peace

regal

king- or queen-like; resembling a person of royalty

regiment

a division in the army, often commanded by a colonel and consisting of individual battalions

serenity

a sense of peace and calmness

shrapnel

metal pieces from a bomb, missile, or other piece of ammunition, and which fan out as the result of detonation or explosion

skirmish

a quick and small-scale clash between two opposing military forces

stirrups

metal pieces which are connected to a horse's saddle, and which help the rider to stay in place

whinny

the "whining" or neighing sound characteristic of a horse
