What We See When We Read Irony

The imagination of characters

When the authors decide to write books, they often use fictional characters that do not exist in reality. Ironically, readers can get emotionally touched by the described characters. For instance, readers start visualizing and creating images of the characters in their minds. Therefore, the iron of imagination of the characters shows the power of literature.

The irony of understanding literature

The assumption that readers can identify with tangible particulars of characters is unrealistic. Ironically, readers are only able to understand characters abstractly. Therefore, while reading a literature book, the reader should be psychologically prepared to understand the characters conceptually.

The iron of reader’s perception about characters

Most authors depict antagonists as bad characters in one way or the other. The attitudes and behaviors of the antagonists, in most cases, are annoying and pissing off. Therefore, most readers tend to hate such characters with zeal. Satirically, perception of the bad characters is just a creation of the author to do his literary work and flow to achieve a specific objective. The author reminds readers not to be too judgmental on characters while reading literature work.

The complexity of human beings

According to the author, human beings are ambitious and multifaceted beings in nature. Ironically, despite being multifaceted, literature can make them connect with both real and fictional characters. For instance, readers have no difficulty in identifying themselves with characters.
