Objective:

Students will examine the plant an animal life around their homes and write a brief report on what they find.

Structure:

One of the fundamental differences between Kya and the other people around her is how deeply entrenched she is with the biology of the marsh. As a result, she appreciates and notices things about where she lives that other citizens of Barkley Cove may have taken for granted. Although perhaps not as romantic as the marsh where Kya lives, students nonetheless find themselves surrounded by nature that they may not pay much attention to.
