Structure:
The majority of Where the Red Fern Grows takes place in the Ozark Mountains in Oklahoma. Billy's environment is very important to him and has a big impact on how he grows up and who he is as a person. In this activity, students will research the Ozarks and present an interesting facet of their research in whatever medium they choose. This activity can be done individually or in groups, depending on class makeup and teacher preference.
