Objective:

Students will write a book review that establishes their understanding of not only the book's surface plot, but also its subtext.

Structure:

Begin this activity by having students use the internet to look up a review of some of their favorite books. Alternately, if they don't have favorite books, you might guide them to the New York Times Book Review and they can read some reviews of current titles.
