Patrick Ness is an American-British author and screenwriter. Although Ness has published two novels for adults, he is best known for his nine young-adult novels, which include the critically acclaimed Chaos Walking trilogy.
Ness won the prestigious Carnegie Medal in 2011 for Monsters of Men and again in 2012 for A Monster Calls, making him only the second author to win the medal in consecutive years. Ness later adapted A Monster Calls into a screenplay for the 2016 film of the same name. He also wrote and created a Doctor Who spinoff series called Class.
