The pygmy’s ironic talent validates that her status as a pygmy does not impact her writing aptitude. Ordinarily, she would be considered to be a trivial individual considering her standing. Her writing abilities uphold that disability is neither a gauge nor a basis of one’s endowment.

The Irony of “Die? Really Of course”

Hans is lost while reading his work due to fireworks and the audience’s applause. Hans asks, “Where was I?” and Edvard replies, “The little mermaid has refused to kill the prince and now it appears that she may die.” Then Hans asserts, “Die? Really? Of Course, ‘really’! It’s my story, isn’t it?” ( Part 1, scene 2). Hans’ rhetoric questions surmise that the story that he is reading is not his. If he were the original writer, he would not pose the query about the story being his. Also, he would not have disbelieved that the incidence about the little mermaid’s immanent death if he were the one who had authored the whole plot.
