Objective:
Students will create a personalized representation of the text's plot and themes

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.7-8.2 ; CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.7-8.5 ; CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.7-8.6
Structure:
To start this activity, the teacher should ask students to brainstorm images that they think are representative of the story, themes, and/or characters of American-Born Chinese. Students should then break up into groups to think of 3–5 images. The teacher should explain that students will be using them for a collage and give them 10 minutes, at the most, to complete this part of the activity.
