Blood
T'Challa mentions the blood flowing through his veins on numerous occasions throughout the comic book. Every time he does it, the connotation is almost always a negative one since it links him directly with his father and his tyrannical ways. Because of this, T'Challa's blood is used here as a metaphor to represent his legacy and the impossibility of escaping his fate.
Throne
The first image in the comic book portrays T'Challa kneeling before his father while he banishes his son from Wakanda. The King is sitting on his throne, wearing a crown and having a scepter in his hand. However, the most important element is the throne, presented as being extremely grand and overshadowing everything else in the room. Because of this, we can claim that the throne is used here as a metaphor for power.
The green lady
One of the people at the front of the rebellion described in the comic book was a lady portrayed as being dressed in green, a sharp contrast with the rest of the colors the other characters wore. She is described as being an inspiring woman, someone who can make everyone feel hopeful. As such, the green lady is used here as a metaphor for hope but also for the idea of renewal and rebirth.
Like dogs
The narrator describes the way in which King T'Challa reacted to the news that his people were rebelling against his rule. In those moments, instead of trying to figure out what he could do better, the King sent an army with the order to kill everyone who refused to listen. The soldiers compared the rebels with dogs and the King himself is quoted as calling his own people animals. The reason why this comparison is important is that it shows just how little the King valued his people.
The lake
After being shunned by his own father and banished from his own country, T'Challa went into the wilderness where he is shown as emerging from a lake, sure of what his purpose in life is. Because of this, the lake is used here as a metaphor for understanding.
