Abe Mazur
When Abe is first introduced as a well-known gangster who happens to come across Rose in her journey to Russia, she has no idea he is in fact her father. She expressed in prior books that she does not have any sort of relationship with her father, and yet, it is ironic that the very same man is the one she seems to get along with very well, unknowingly about her parentage. Indeed, she even remarks that they had a similar sense of humor and outlook on like, which comes to clarity at the end when she realizes who he is to her.
Blood whores
Throughout the course of the series, Rose has been obvious about her distaste for women who opt to service men instead of signing up to be Damphir soldiers like herself. Indeed, she is even cynical when Dimitri reveals to her that his mother was one and that it was not so bad. Yet, this is exactly what she becomes when she is captured by Dimitri. He regularly drinks her blood and leaves her in a euphorically incoherent state, and she even admits that she began to crave it.
Fighting with Dimitri
Throughout the course of her training with Dimitri, Rose has consistently improved and Dimitri has remarked that whilst she is a good fighter, her greatest weakness is that she hesitates. This proves true when she finally sees Dimitri again after his change. She believes that nothing can stop her from killing him, but the moment she sees him she freezes, and he even taunts her with one of their playful rules, where he reminded her to never hesitate.
