Peter Vaughan made his first appearance in film in Alfred Hitchcock's 1959 film The 39 Steps. He's made over 200 appearances in films and television and was known as a character actor. His final role before his death in 2016 was that of Maester Amen in the HBO series Game of Thrones. Vaughan has also lent his talents to radio and performed in theatre during his 64 year career.
