Exploring Chilean Poetry

Group Work

Objective:

Students will explore Chilean poetry, its historical and cultural context, and present their findings in a group presentation.

Structure:

Divide students into small groups of 4-5 apiece and assign each with a different Chilean poet. Use the following list:

1. Pablo Neruda
2. Gabriela Mistral
3. Nicanor Parra
4. Vicente Huidobro
5. Raul Zurita

Provide them with resources such as books, articles, websites, and videos that highlight the life and work of their assigned poet. Encourage students to explore the poet's background, major works, themes, style, and contributions to Chilean literature.
